The main attraction you will find inside the castle is the Museo Nazionale di Castel Sant’Angelo and its extensive collection of sculptures, paintings, military memorabilia, and medieval firearms.

The castle has five floors in total, starting with a spiral ramp of Roman Construction. The second floor holds a torture chamber and prison cells. On the third floor, you can see a large courtyard and a chapel. The fourth floor holds marvelous Papal apartments, and the fifth floor houses the library and treasury.

Beautiful views

Right at the appointed time and following the instructions of the reservation where we had to go to validate the tickets, the super friendly girl, very nice and with an exquisite experience, especially when it came to answering any questions. Once inside, the visit to the castle, very beautiful, and with beautiful views. I recommend it.

Sabina

Loved it!

So fascinating especially the models of the castel over the years. Loved the large sculpture of Michael the Archangel and the twelve angel statues along the bridge leading to the fortress. There was a seagull that had his photograph taken numerous times by tourists as he posed with the arched bridges over the Tiber and Roma in the background. He was an asset to Castel San Angelo!
